Introductory Session

Over the last month, auditions have taken place with cast, crew and band having been selected for the 2017 Combined Schools’ Production of Mary Poppins. On Thursday 24 November students from Mater Christi College and St Joseph’s College gathered for the official Introductory Session.

Introducing a few of our participants:

Orhestra:
Boyan Archer: 7 O’Mara
“My name is Boyan Archer and I am in Year 7. I have been selected to play Percussion in the Production Band. I am looking forward to learning all the songs and developing my skills as percussionist/drummer. I am overly excited about being involved and cannot wait to get started.”

Dylan Richards: 10 Cantamessa
“My name is Dylan Richards and I am in Year 10. I have been selected to play Flute/Piccolo in the Production Band. What I’m really looking forward to in next year’s production is very difficult for me to describe. You could say that it is the challenge of the music or being able to play new instruments but that doesn’t encompass what I’m completely looking forward to. If anything, what I am really looking forward to in next year’s production is just everything; the surprises and the things that I already know are coming.”

Sebastian Brotto Crowhurst: 7 Edwards
“I have been selected for the Backstage Crew in next year’s Production. What I am looking forward to for next year’s production is all the friends that we are going to make during all the practices. I am also looking forward to learning the whole musical and its props. I am also looking forward to the joy of the performances and the fun that comes with it.”

Daniel McIntosh: 7 Edwards
“I have been selected for the cast in next year’s Production of Mary Poppins. I’m looking forward to meeting even more new people and getting up on stage and preforming. I’m also looking for to this play because it’s going to be a lot different to the other plays I’ve done and more of a challenge.”
